Kettleball Training

There are a number of good tools for training for a mixed martial arts or combat sport event and one of the best is the kettleball workout. The kettleball looks similar to a cannon ball with a suitcase handle attached to it. This training technique is used to build strength and power. The exercises that use the kettleball are the Clean and Jerk, the Jerk and the Snatch.

The kettleball is 70 pounds and the exercises are designed to be done for only 10 minutes each. The clean and jerk exercise for example it to take the kettleball for the floor the clean position to overhead for ten straight minutes. This will give you some indication as to the strength and endurance that is needed to handle such a workout. Other kettleball exercises that are less strenuous help with power, strength and conditioning.

They require the user to swing the kettleball in an arc motion upwards in front of your body and then down again as many times as possible in order to make your arms feel lighter when you hold them out in front of you to protect yourself. This training and workout technique is one of the best ways to build stamina as well since you will be required to do the exercise for at least ten minutes. Another great technique is to use the kettleball as a straight weight to press over your head either with one arm or both or alternating.
